Dodge Challenger – The Heart Beat of Passionate Driver

The iconic Dodge Challenger got a big face-lift since its first drive. The 2016 Dodge Challenger appeared very differently as an American muscle scene in 1969 with it 1970 model that was a hard-top convertible giant with a roomy interior and a wheelbase two inches wider. 


The Dodge Challenger featured a compelling blend of classic and modern performance. With the advent of Dodge Challenger in the marketplace, new beginning occurred along with the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. 

The 1970 Challenger was unforgettable as it offered a wide variety of power train options.

These early models were produced until 1974; approximately 188,600 Dodge Challengers were sold in those five years.

Dodge Challenger is a combination of performance and optimization options. The first car that carried the challenger name was Dodge Silver Challenger Club Sedan to the 1959 full-sized Dodge Coronet model line produced in Detroit, Michigan. The Challenger offered nine different engine options and different body – paint colors. 


The regular models were, starting with the base V6 cars:


Dodge Challenger SE (SXT) and SE Rallye (SXT Plus): The features encompassed in Dodge Challenger are dual exhaust, leather-wrapped steering wheel, 18 inch wheels, keyless starter, trip computer, six speaker stereo, side airbags, and other safety features. The Plus package comprises of leather, Boston Acoustics speakers with 287 watt amp, fog lights, and more. 


Dodge Challenger R/T and R/T Classic
had the 379 hp Hemi and 20-inch chrome wheels; the Classic added retro 20-inch chrome wheels, hood scoop, retro side stripes, and HID headlamps, with script badges and optional side stripes. The R/T also had power heated exterior mirrors, a rear body color spoiler, and mini carbon accents.


Dodge Challenger SRT8 has 470 horsepower engine: The SRT also had Nappa leather-faced seats with suede perforated inserts, 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, two-mode active damping suspension, Media Center 430 with 6.5-inch touch screen, bright pedals, heated steering wheel, severe duty engine cooling and engine oil cooler, rear park assist, garage door opener, temperature and compass gauge, and alarm.



Of all the classic muscle cars, none have become more collectible or more valuable than the Dodge Challengers. Today, Dodge continues to manufacture Challengers. They are cars which constantly test the limits of American muscle.
  • In 2008, the Dodge Challenger was introduced with an SRT-8 trim consisting of a limited run of 5,000 vehicles.
  • In 2009, Dodge expanded their Challenger line-up through a pair of slightly more modest models.
  • In 2011, introduced the 470-horsepower Challenger SRT-8 392 with a three-mode active damping system.
  • In 2013, the Dodge Challengers SE trim level changed to the SXT and a V-6 powered Rallye Redline model added an extra performance edge with the base engine Challenger.
  • For 2015, Dodge Challenger was in the market with 707-horsepower SRT Hellcat.
The Pentastar V6 was 55 horsepower stronger than the outgoing 3.5 V6, bringing it up to 305 hp and 268 lb-ft of torque.
